Kepemimpinan Teokrasi dan Monarki: Studi Eksegesis 1 Samuel 8:7 Dan Implikasi Teologisnya

Abstrak

This study aims to determine the background of Israel's request for a king and reject the theocratic system, and to explain exegetically God's intent in 1 Samuel 8:7 and to outline the theological understanding of the concepts of theocracy and monarchy in the application of exegetical hermeneutics. Through a qualitative method with a literature study approach through the steps of Old Testament exegesis, it is believed that the research objectives can be achieved. Israel's rejection of theocratic leadership is the central issue in this text. God does not reject the monarchy system, but correction is given to the Israelites because they insist on having a king according to their own desires rather than according to God's will.
